AFFIDAVIT OF DEATH
STATE OF KANSAS,
LEAVENWORTH COUNTY                           In the Probate Court in and for said County.
In the matter of the Estate of
  Elizabeth D. Brown
Late of said County, deceased.

    On this  second  day of  October  A. D. 1876, personally appeared before me, the undersigned, Judge of said Court,  Levi Scrivner  who being by me duly sworn according to law, doth upon  his  oath depose and say that  Elizabeth D. Brown  died on the   twenty ninth   day of   September   A. D. 1876, at   Leavenworth  , County and State aforesaid; that to the best of   his   knowledge and belief, the names and places of residence of the heirs of the said deceased are as follows, to wit:
   Virginia Self, of Jackson county, Missouri, Margaret Calhoun, Martha M. Scrivner, & Thomas Brown of Atchison county, Kansas, Louisa Mellenger & Amanda Patton, in the state of Nebraska, Thomas Pierce, Orlena Brown, Henry Brown, Fanny Brown, Merilda Brown & Margaret Brown of Leavenworth county, Kansas    and that the deceased died without a will as affiant verily believes.
      And   he    further states that the said    Elizabeth D. Brown    died seized and possessed of real estate, consisting chiefly of    ninety acres of land in Leavenworth county, Kansas, stock & household and kitchen furniture, corn crop in the ground    all of said    personal    estate to be estimated to be worth about   two hundred   Dollars.
    Your petitioner would therefore respectfully pray that your Honor will grant Letters of Administration to    him the said Levi Scrivner.
